  1. How can I participate?
  2. The competition is open to all Malaysians who are currently enrolled in Malaysian colleges and/or universities.

  3. How many entries can I submit?
  4. Each participant can only submit one entry, which must be original, unpublished and produced by the participant. You will be disqualified if you submit more than one entry.

  5. Can I participate this year if I have competed in a previous year?
  6. Yes, you may.

  7. Is there a requirement that I need to include Nando’s related image (eg: chicken, chilli, PERi-PERi bottle sauce, Nando’s logo etc) in submitted artwork?
  8. The theme is not tied to Nando’s. It is independent of Nando’s and completely open to your interpretation. We strongly encourage you to exercise your creativity and not feel as if there is a need to incorporate chickens, chillies, PERi-PERi sauce bottles or the Nando’s brand in your entry. Besides, we do not award bonus points for it.

  9. Are there any restrictions on the medium?
  10. The medium is open. Acrylics, ink, collage, silkscreen, photography and other mediums are all permissible.
    The only requirement is that your finished entry must be in a 2-dimensional hanging display form. The use of perishable materials is also discouraged.

  11. Is it necessary for my entry to be either square or rectangular in shape?
  12. No, there is no requirement on the shape of your entry. It only needs to meet the minimum (2’ x 2’) and maximum (3’ x 3’) size requirements.

  13. How will my entry be judged?
  14. All entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
    1. Originality and creativity
    2. Interpretation of the theme
    3. Quality of design and composition
    4. Use of medium / Artistic finish
    5. Overall impression

  15. How can I submit my entries?
  16. There are 2 ways to submit the entries (Select either ONE):
    • Online Submission – submit online to www.nandos.com.my/PYA OR
    • Physical Submission – fill up the entry form and attached together with the artwork and submit the artwork to Event Plus (M) Sdn Bhd


  17. What if there are finer details in my entry that may not be visible in the photograph that I upload via online submission?
  18. You may take close up photographs of these details and upload them.
    A maximum of three photographs may be uploaded.

  19. In the online entry form for online submission, does the rationale behind my entry have to be in English?
  20. You may submit your rationale in English or Bahasa Malaysia.

  21. For online submission, how will I know whether my entry has been shortlisted?
  22. If your entry is shortlisted, you will be contacted via telephone, e-mail and / or SMS by the 22th April 2013.

  23. For online submission, what happens after I’ve been shortlisted?
  24. Once shortlisted, you will have to submit your physical entry for the final judging. Please ensure that you have printed and attached a copy of the online registration form to the back of your entry. If you are unable to print this, you may simply provide your details on a piece of paper as per the fields in the online form and attach it to your entry.

    Entries must reach Event Plus by 4th May 2013 or they will be disqualified.

  25. For physical submission, do I need to attach the artwork info on the painting?
  26. Yes, every artwork must be accompanied by the entry form with the painting info..

  27. How will I know whether my entry has won or is selected to be placed on public display?
  28. You will be contacted via telephone, e-mail and / or SMS by 13rd May 2013.

  29. What if I’m one of the winners, but am unable to attend the prize-giving event?
    You may send a representative to receive the prize on your behalf. Upon registering at the event, your representative must present:
    • a copy of the e-mail informing you of the prize-giving event
    • a photocopy of your NRIC
    If you are unable to attend, please inform us as soon as possible, so that we may make the appropriate arrangements. You can contact Vinod (010 – 566 0033) or (016-6006040) to let us know

  30. What happens to the non-winning entries that are on public display?
  31. These entries will be placed on a silent auction for the public to bid on.

  32. How does the silent auction work?
  33. Bidding forms will be made available at the exhibition for anyone to bid on an entry during the exhibition period.

  34. What happens if there is a successful bid on my entry?
  35. After the exhibition period is over, we will contact the highest bidders to arrange for payment and delivery of the entry. Once this is complete, you will be contacted to receive a cheque equivalent to 50% of the amount pledged by the successful bidder.

  36. What happens to the other 50% of the amount?
  37. The amount will go to your respective college or university.

  38. What if there are no bids on my entry? Will I get to reclaim my entry from Nando’s after the exhibition period?
  39. If your entry is not shortlisted and not being sold during the exhibition period, you can collect your artwork at Event Plus (M) Sdn Bhd, 43, Jln Kemuning Prima D33/D, Kemuning Utama Commercial Centre, 40400 Shah Alam, Selangor (Contact Person: Vinod: 010 – 566 0033 or 016-6006040) by 14th July 2013. If you failing to do so, your artwork will be deem as the property of Nando’s Chickenland Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

  40. What happens to all these entries?
  41. These entries will gradually be displayed in our restaurants, along with a plaque in recognition of your work.
